Elio Rojas - Pianist
Elio Hernandez Rojas, better know as Elio Rojas is a Cuban pianist, arranger, renowned for his dynamic performances that seamlessly blend Afro-Cuban rhythms, Latin jazz, European classical music, and Spanish Flamenco. A First-Class Honours graduate from the University of Arts in Havana, Elio has graced international stages, captivating audiences with his virtuosity and charisma.
In 2019, Elio relocated to Spain to further his studies, marking his international debut at the Teatro Principal de Alicante with his own compositions and ensemble. His career has since flourished, leading him to perform at global festivals and as a headliner on international cruise lines. Now based in London under the Arts Council England's Global Talent Visa, Elio continues to make significant contributions to the jazz scene, performing to sold-out audiences in renowned jazz clubs and theatres across the UK.
Elio's performances are characterized by his refined classical technique and boundless creativity, transforming well-known pieces with his unique style. His music pays homage to his Afro-Cuban heritage, infusing traditional Cuban rhythms with jazz standards, resulting in a captivating and fresh sound that resonates with diverse audiences.
